Welcome to My Wellness Diary — From Korea, With Heart
Hello, and thank you for being here.
I’m a woman in my mid-40s, living in Korea, standing at the intersection of change, reflection, and hope. This blog is a space where I share my personal journey toward a healthier, more radiant life — not just for myself, but for every woman who finds herself navigating the challenges of midlife.

Until recently, my annual health check-ups showed mostly good results — numbers that seemed within a healthy range. But this year, something changed. My doctor gently pointed out that my blood pressure was creeping up, my cholesterol was a little higher than ideal, and my fasting blood sugar was inching toward the pre-diabetic zone. Not dangerous, not yet—but no longer something I could ignore.
That moment stayed with me. I realized that these weren’t just numbers. They were warning signs — quiet but urgent signals from my body that something needed to change. I wasn’t just gaining weight; I was drifting toward chronic conditions like hypertension, diabetes, or cardiovascular issues. The realization was sobering. And more than anything, it was motivating.
I’ve started to feel changes in my body that make me pause. I tire more easily. My memory feels less sharp. My hair and skin have changed. And perhaps most importantly, I’ve started feeling uneasy about what the next decade could bring.
Many of my friends, now in their 50s, are experiencing menopause. They talk about hot flashes, insomnia, weight gain, mood swings, and the quiet grief of watching their bodies change. Some are in and out of hospitals. Others feel isolated and confused. Their stories were a wake-up call for me — and perhaps for you too.
My husband and I still share warm meals and a close bond, but our sedentary lifestyle has caught up with us. We’ve both noticed more gray hairs, slower recovery from exercise, and a sense that time is moving faster than we are. I realized that if I didn’t take action now, I might be facing the same health struggles soon.
So I’ve made a decision:
Not to chase an unrealistic body ideal, but to take charge of my health — physically, mentally, and emotionally.

This blog is my promise to myself, and to you, that aging doesn’t have to mean decline. In Korea, I’m fortunate to have access to rich wellness traditions that blend ancient wisdom and modern science. I’m learning how to care for myself through nutritious Korean meals, mindful movement like pilates and walking, and gentle routines that calm the mind and support the body.
From fermented foods like kimchi and miso to calcium-rich seaweed and soy-based dishes like tofu, Korean cuisine offers powerful tools for hormone balance, gut health, and energy. I’ve also started practicing intermittent fasting and incorporating natural supplements like omega-3s and magnesium to support sleep and reduce inflammation.
But beyond food and fitness, I’m also discovering something even deeper: the power of community, intention, and self-kindness.
Midlife can be disorienting. We face aging parents, growing children, shifting careers, and changing identities — all while our bodies transform in ways we don’t always understand. This blog is here to say: you’re not alone. Whether you’re in Seoul, Sydney, Seattle, or anywhere else, we’re walking this path together.
I’ll be sharing my personal experiments, the advice I’ve gathered from trusted Korean health professionals, and small lifestyle habits that have helped me feel stronger and more centered. My goal is not perfection, but progress — and to build a warm, supportive space for women like you and me.
Let’s embrace this new season of life with open hearts and resilient spirits.
Let’s age with intention, curiosity, and pride.
Let’s be strong, smart, and radiant — together.
